Comments on map:
Signed by Walker as borough surveyor. The five maps cover substantially the same area, but each is drawn separately with changes of orientation and minor textual variation (e.g. Cloth Hall on no.1 is Mixed Cloth Hall on no.2). There are extensive notes on the maps on distances, e.g. 1 1/2 miles and 52 yards to Waggon and Horses. 2 Miles and 98 yards to Peacock Inn Islington.' Most writing is sans-serif, giving the maps a relatively 'modern' look. Naming of factories suggests derivation from Fowler (1831).
