Comments on map:
Kershaw's name appears on the covers. Stylistically similar to Ordnance Survey. Adjoining sheet numbers in corners as well as centre: sheets are 25.3, etc, apparently as nine sub-sheets of 1:1056. Some buildings (? older ones) infilled grey, the others are carmine, with red outlines: and some evidence of scraping, e.g. on 30.4. Only covers periphery of town, apparently beyond area of Ordnance Survey 1:1056. Addition is apparent on 34.5, where a red/carmine building is drawn over trees. Bound in seven volumes: at the start of each is a blank sheet. Scale of feet in all four margins.
