[There is a small-scale half-tone photo on p.114 of Henfrey Smail, The Worthing map story, Worthing: Aldridge, 1949, and pp 115-23 give background: p.121 says 8 tenders received, varying from 90 to 200 L for the survey, and 150 L for the valuation: Charles Hide tendered 95 guineas [99.75 L] for the survey only [just over 8.25 d/acre].
