Comments on map:
The three maps Exeter 21293-95, are all very similar in content and appearance, characterised by 'compression' on north exemplified by the railway. Dated circa 1865 in East Sussex RO list: lacks the projected railways and West Pier, and the back cover advertises as 'just published', 'The Brighton Guide', with press comment by the Gazette, 24 Sept, 1859. Surrounded by letterpress on all four sides, and fares for hackney carriages, flys and sedan chairs are given on the back.
