Map title:
'Plan of the town and parish of Kingston upon Thames by T. Hornor, Land Surveyor, Pictural and Descriptive Planner of Estates &c.'
Comments on map:
Town scale is graduated in yards, but seems intended as 1:2376; parish is mapped at about 1:40,000, graduated in chains. Detail of mapping on south-east side of town is obscured by dramatic 'shadow' effect: the whole thing is more striking in an 'artistic' than in a planimetric way. Pickett engraved the plan & writing.
