Comments on map:
F.p.[1] in The Oxford university and city guide, New Edition, Oxford: Slatter & Rose, n.d. [pencil note says is after 1859]. Map is decidedly minimal, though well-engraved. Seems to be engraved on steel: offsetting has occured. Complete omission of churches and colleges is decidely odd; or was there some idea of overprinting them in colour?
