Comments on map:
This exists in two versions: 1:5280, dated 1878 [TNA [PRO] RAIL 1037/139], and a photo-reduction at 1:10,560, dated 1879. In general content is similar, but only 1:5280 names the surveyor and has the dedication and boundaries: it also has a more elaborate coat of arms. [Not same engraving as Oliver [Exeter 19723].] Style is generally akin to Ordnance Survey, though on the parent 1:5280 'minor names' are written rather larger.
