Comments on map:
A very curious thing: what seems to be a single-sheet map, or possibly two sheets, but cut along the parish boundaries and pasted opposite the relevant sections of T. Cooke, Westminster local directory; being a guide to all the streets, public buildings, scientific, charitable and other institutions; accompanied by a general history of its early and present boundaries... intended as a companion to the map of Westminster, 3rd edition, London: James Wyld, 1856. Cooke is 'Sealing Officer': the 'directory' has no personal information. The treatment of the map indicates that it is an integral part of the 'package', but at the edges it has a neat-line and ruled border, suggesting that it may also have an independent existence.
