Comments on map:
On page 56 of a manuscript of the chronicles of Geoffrey of Monmouth, of 1300 or later, drawn to our attention at BLML on 9:v:02 by Peter Barber. It is a drawing at the bottom of p.56, showing a church with spire in the centre (St Pauls?) and a 'castle' (Tower of London?) on left, and other buildings. Peter Barber points to the Roman concept of showing a city and to the similarity of depiction with that of London on the Matthew Paris itinerary map. The text on p.56 refers to the building of the Tower of London.
