Comments on map:
Surveyed by Dent in 1805-6. This survey exists in two copies, a 1:4752 version, described here, and a 1:2376 version, which is unfit for production, but which has been photographed: the 1:2376 map is similar in colour and content, though there seems to be more refinement in building shapes in the built-up parts, field numbers are in red, and more minor detail is described, e.g. Pound, Watchhouse. Book of Reference has: number on plan, numbers of the houses, proprietor, occupier, description, quantity (a.r.p.), excluding hedges and ditches, and including them, Quantity of each Occupier's Land, Gross Quantity. No valuation column. Total area 3032:3:0. Reference book includes a brief verbal description of the boundaries.
