Map title:
'Stanford's contoured map of the county of London'.
Comments on map:
Generally 'stripped-down' look. Main interest is the use of illuminated contours, at 25 ft VI. Four sheets, joined: intended as a school wall map, so treatment is bold, with no ordinary buildings, and only main roads; in that respect, shows less than Ordnance Survey 1:63,360. Only included on grounds of scale and unusual treatment: useless for urban historical work, unless one wants the relief.
