The mapping uses the 'nine-inch' (1:6732) mapping [H.73/H.165] [Exeter 19574] for the central part, and the four-inch (1:15,840) mapping [H.160] [Exeter 18282] for the outer parts. Main record made from the 1888 edition, which was the one used by Harry Margary (The A to Z of Victorian London, introductory notes by Ralph Hyde, Lympne: Harry Margary (in association with London: Guildhall Library, 1987), and which unlike the other two has a dated title-page; all are published by G.W. Bacon, 127 Strand, London. The 'New Ordnance Survey atlas' is BM RD (green) 18 Nov 1880, the earlier 'New large-scale...' is BM RD 9 Jan 1886 (red). The 1879-80 version uses 1:6732 cover for Hammersmith/Willesden Jc to Victoria Docks/Plaistow Sta, and Red Post Hill/Putney LSWR to south end of Finsbury Pk GNR, and 1:15,840 cover extending south to Wimbledon Sta and Crystal Palace and north to just north of Wood Green junctions. The 1885 version has similar 1:6732 cover, and includes complete 1:15,840 cover, similar to 1888 (i.e. including Croydon), though the index at the front does not make this quite as clear as it might.
