Comments on map:
Rather bold approach: seems to be originally engraved on wood, in 4 blocks (joins are painfully visible: they meet in Tooley St). Lettering is mostly sans-serif: districts, parks, etc in typeset Roman, as is statistical information at foot of map, including that there are 4370 pubs, 907 pastrycooks, and consumption of 120,000 tons of fish, 10,000,000 gallons of milk and 65,000 pipes of wine.
