Comments on map:
Recorded from Wychwood Editions reissue 1988, from original in Guildhall Library. Scale of feet and of 0.5 English mile. Evidently derived from Ogilby & Morgan. Separate numbering systems used for features on map and those on the prospect at bottom, so that tying the two together might not be very easy for a stranger. Language on map proper is mixture of German and English, and mistranscription ('Pinder of Wakefelt'). Dating from Darlington & Howgego: a Guildhall Library note in their annotated copy suggests that probably rather later: RGS catalogue says Homann firm only founded 1730.
