Comments on map:
It is possible that dating information and lithographer are concealed under the border. Very well executed, almost anticipating Ordnance Survey 1:2500 in all but internal divisions of buildings. Includes railway out of Exchange, with Ormskirk and Southport lines, and also terminus of Garston & Liverpool railway. LNWR Garston & Edge Hill line is shown as fences, but no rails. Includes Cheshire shore opposite. Style of parish lettering, particularly, strongly suggests contemporary OS influence. No building infill or water-lining of ponds outside borough boundary.
