Comments on map:
Dated late 19th century by record office list, but the map does not show the railway (opened 1859), and carries various notes relating to sales, exchanges, and an owner who won't sell, all pretty obviously with Charles and Rowland Winn of Nostell Priory, the original owners of this map, trying to gain control of the ironstone. Really no 'urban' detail, and only allowed in on grounds of scale: the drawing is evidently done in a hurry to illustrate a particular point.
