Comments on map:
Inset on 'Map of Lincoln-Shire, comprehending Lindsey, Kesteven & Holland, surveyed in the years 1776, 7, & 8, by Capt. Andrew Armstrong. Engraved by Stephen Pyle. MD CCLXXVIII.' Main map is dedicated to the Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven. Dignified with a scale, but is really pretty diagramatic. The map of c.1600 [Exeter 18591] is far more plausible-looking.
