Comments on map:
In the Leicester Daily Post, 23 October 1890, p.8: map seems to be Ordnance Survey 1:10,560, with many names rewritten (helping disguise the provenance), but with some contours and altitudes retained. As it has presumably been photo-engraved, the end-result is three removes from the 1:2500 original. A curiosity.
