Comments on map:
This record is a conflation of two versions of the same drawing: M938 BSR is monochrome, n.d., with title as quoted here, and no reference to numbered buildings; M210 BRC is annotated 'November 1894' in a contemporary hand, is coloured by wards and tram routes, and has a title indicating that it was issued with 'The ''Reliable'' Directory of Southport and Birkdale'. Interesting lack of hotels. The detail shown is nearly the same, but the monochrome version is presumably later, as it shows the North and South Marine Lakes joined.
