Issued with Hewitson's Popular History of Preston: 'Reduced from large map printed & published by Wm Brown, lithographer, Preston'. Looks like an updated version of Guardian Map, 1865 [Exeter 19931]. The minute writing suggests that this is a photo-reducion from a larger map (possibly 90 x 56, 1:7920: cf 1889 version), rather than an independent production in its own right.
