Comments on map:
Approximate dating: Manchester Central Library catalogue merely says 1890s. Red figures on map are key to adverts 1-32 and 26a round the map, the local agent for which is no.23. Illustrative blocks evidently from stock: railway wagon twice (13 and 27), horse-drawn van thrice (3, 13, 25). Advertisers include a 'Practical Clog Maker' and a 'Coal Merchant & Furniture Remover'. Map is evidently a straight copy from OS; suitably sans-serif and business-like, though the adverts are the usual typographic mix of the period.
