Comments on map:
Long note on left: 'Upon the annexed plan are carefully laid down from a survey by me, the different marches of the parish of Gorbals, which survey was made according to a description of the same, in a Decreet of Disjunction and New Erection, the Feuars of Gorbals, against the Minister, and Heretors of Govan, dated 20th. Feby. 1771... which description agrees with the marches pointed out by Mr Isaac one of the oldest residenters in the parish, and which survey I also found, agrees with an old plan of the village and Barony of Gorbals in the hands of James Hill Esq. Factor for Hutchieson Hospital.' The description is verbal: fields are numbered, but the numbers do not appear in the description.
