Comments on map:
Inset on 'Plan of the coast of Kent from Ramsgate to Rye', 70.7 x 45.0, 1:126,720: not a chart, as no soundings, and little 'offshore' detail. Dated 1757 in BLML 1967 catalogue: '1770' pencilled on the map itself. Something of a rough imitation of the Board of Ordnance style. Scale not figured: 1 inch to 1400 feet would about fit.
