Comments on map:
Broadly similar to Exeter 18500-02, with similar treatment of Sheerness and Queenborough. TNA [PRO] MPHH 1/60 contains four similar copies: that described, the only one with a named mapmaker, differs in not including Allhallows, but content is similar enough to justify a single record. Scale measured as 3.15 inches to 1 mile, i.e. 1 inch to 558 yards; this has been 'rationalised' to 1 inch to 550 yards, 1:19,800.
