Comments on map:
Inset on 'Bacon's new map of the Isle of Wight an exact reduction from the Six inch Ordnance Survey', 1:63,360. Dated 1886 in CUL and BOL catalogues: lacks Freshwater Yarmouth & Newport Railway (1889). The Ventnor map is not so much a reduction as a photographing of the Ordnance Survey, with some lettering redone (e.g. gothic is replaced by sans-serif capitals), and possibly other emendations.
