Comments on map:
Bottom right is 'Published by authority of the H.I. Committee.' Pasted top left of the Hereford City Library copy is a cutting from the Hereford Times of 6 October 1858, describing what is evidently Curley's large-scale manuscript map, with buildings coloured by use and roads by surface. Most of the item is concerned with the triangulation, and with explaining triangulation and traversing.
