Comments on map:
A set (Hampshire RO 76M78/A/E/P3-/P6), overall very similar to the tithe map [Exeter 07721], but style is more akin to the Warblington map [Exeter 21098], and there are some additional details, e.g. Union, Black Dog Inn, Tanyard, Schools, Catholic Chapel. Areas numbered: no reference in evidence, but numbers are supposed to differ in places from the tithe map. 76M78/A/E/P6 is both the best preserved and the most complete in its details [schools and description of chapel are peculiar to this example, which also has 'Mansion' with arbour and Melon Ground], and the main record applies to this map. It is a 'display' version, more highly finished: the beacon has a coloured flag.
