Comments on map:
Incomplete (51 of possible 100) photocopy of original retained by Cheltenham borough council. No scale in evidence; catalogue says 1:528, which looks right. Catalogue attributes the map to Henry Dangerfield, with date of 1855-7. Sewers are shown, but appear to be latter additions; see e.g. date 1872 on sheet 22, 1866 on sheet 28, and 1888-92 on sheet 29; 'M.H.' and sewer diameters given. A few crosshatched buildings have also been added later; see especially sheet 47. 1:6960 (?) index. Rather closer to Ordnance Survey look (and practice) than most other non-OS LBH plans. [Sheets present: 11, 14, 15, 18-23, 27-31, 33-39, 42-47, 49-55, 58-64, 69-73, 78-82, 87-89, in two folders, splitting between 49 and 50.]
