Comments on map:
Somewhat puzzling: evidence that this is a much older plate is exemplified by the way the Caledonian Railway cuts through projected back fences without deletion, the conflict of Barony Street [feuing began 1829] with Markets, the 'unmatched' lettering of Scott Mont., and the use of upright rather than italic capitals for Clarendon Crescent [1850], which cuts into the title; all suggests that this is a much older plate that 1851. Top right: on 'piece of paper' with 'shadow' 'Places of interest' with admission charges, in words.
