'Old Edinburgh Maps, no.3', in Scottish Geographical Magazine, XXXV, no.8 (August-September-October 1919), ('The ''Edinburgh'' number'), fp [330]. Manuscript original not located, September 2005. Dated 'c.1767': no hint of New Town; seems to be from manuscript original, and the more built-up part has not reproduced very clearly. On p.330 is noted 'As the Distance from Holyrood Palace entrance to the centre of the Castle Esplanade is one mile, the scale of any Map of Edinburgh can easily be found.'
