Recorded from photocopy: location of original is uncertain. The town is peripheral, right up in a corner, and main record refers to that only. Below the cartouche is 'Remarks', including 'The Act of Parliament for holding a Market in South Shields was obtain'd in 1767, and the Cross and most of the Buildings compleated in 1768 so great was the Spirit of Improvement.'
