[list of solicitors follows: Middle Hartlepool' the most prominent part of the title].
Comments on map:
Covers whole of Hartlepool, but only north-east part of West Hartlepool. This copy has been neatly hand-coloured. No clear evidence of dating, but railway is North Eastern Railway, so has to be after 1854. Scale is in chains and feet, but definitely seems to be smaller than 1:4752. 'Explanation' expatiates on the advantages of the estate. 'N.B. This Plan being lithographed cannot be depended upon for precise accuracy. The Sale Plans in the possession of Messrs. Martin & Fenwick must be referred to for dimensions and quantities, and the Sections also for the levels of Streets and Sewers.' Treatment of 'minor detail' strongly suggests Ordnance Survey derivation.
