Comments on map:
Inset on a much larger map, photographed by Ordnance Survey (ref A.O. 146) when in the possession of Major F.J.B. Wingfield-Digby of Sherborne Castle. Seems to have been reduced to 40 % or less of original scale (scale of main map is now 1 inch to 13 chains: 1 inch to 5 chains, or larger, would fit the main map's writing better), but Catalogue of photographs of old cadastral and other plans of Great Britain, Southampton: Ordnance Survey, 1935, only gives the scale of the photograph, 1:10,560. Inset only enlarged by about 1.25. Mapmaker named, but illegible.
