Comments on map:
[No title.] Note on map says is watermarked 1840. Map has lost its eastern sheet, so it shows 'Proposed Line of R'; object was evidently to show two road schemes, one replacing the road past the mill, the other going over a 5-arch bridge roughly on the course of the later railway. Two unexplained parallel lines at bottom of map, one blue, one red. (Possible that small part of north-west of town omitted: otherwise complete-looking.)
