Comments on map:
Scale is curiously graduated: 0-5-0-10-20-30: 10 to 30 (20 chains) is about 0.78 inches, but comparative measurement suggests 1 inch to 12 chains (1:9504). Numbered reference to churches, public buildings, hotels, etc is missing. Certain of the content, e.g. Lions Hold and the Aqueducts description nearby, and Vallum of Danes Castle, suggest derivation from John Wood's map [Exeter 18312]. The date might be after 1867, as the house reputedly dated April 1867 at 5 North Avenue, Heavitree, seems to be shown.
