Comments on map:
Record is of a version which is unrecorded in Darlington and Howgego: the main part, with decorative border, corresponds to DH9(2), i.e. c.1645, but is without the text round the sides; added on west is an extension, covering Westminster, the engraving of which is not very refined, but which is rather fresher-looking than the 'main' plate (including some residual guide-lines for names). Globe Theatre, ? another theatre in Southwark, etc, have to be inferred from nature of buildings rather than from text, which is largely confined to street names and names of stairs, etc, along the Thames.
