Map title:
'Map of Reading, by G.W. Bacon, F.R.G.S. Printed expressly for this Directory.'
Comments on map:
Facing title of Kelly's Directory of Reading, Caversham, Henley-on-Thames, Wokingham, and neighbourhood, (''Buff Book'') for 1899, London: Kelly, n.d. [BM blue 3 Fe 99.] This may be an enlargement of the 1887 map [Exeter 21022]. It seems to be a straightforward derivative from the Ordnance Survey, exemplified by the density of names: some cut names show it to be an extract from a larger plate.
