Comments on map:
The map appears to be, as far as possible, an unacknowledged copying at a reduced scale of the Bartholomew-W.H.Smith 1:10,560 [Exeter 19248]: see, notably, the deletion of squaring across park stipple, and the treatment of Anfield cemetery. The mapping has been extended on the north and east, so as to reach the boundary of Huyton, i.e. some way beyond the actual limits of the city in 1895. The additions are characterised by e.g. sans-serif rather than serifed italic for dock names.
